Public Facilities And Building Height
The specific purposes of the public facilities and building height district are to provide areas for public and quasi public facilities that are appropriate for educational facilities, cultural and institutional uses, health services, specialized housing and care facilities, parks and recreation, general government operations, airports, utility and public service needs, other similar and related supporting uses and to implement the mid rise and high rise building height policies of the community development and design element of the general plan by allowing building heights to exceed the limitations of the base zoning districts in specific areas of the city the additional height is intended to help facilitate the creation of a defined and vibrant downtown area by providing opportunities for more intensive office, mixed use, and residential development, to support the development of additional visitor accommodations in specified commercial areas
