The purpose of the heavy industrial zone is to provide locations for industrial activities that have greater than average off site effects. This zone shall be located adjacent to existing industrial development or along federal, state, county or local roads in locations consistent with city land use plans as established in the impact zones. Due to the intensity of land use, these areas require primary transportation routes, adequate sewage disposal services, water supply, fire and police services and consideration given to the potential public transportation access.
