The purpose of the Residential single-family at five (5) dwelling units per gross acre (RS-5) zoning district is to protect existing areas with single-family detached residences and to allow new residential. It is also intended to serve as an underlying zoning district for a Mixed Use Overlay zoning district. The RS-5 zoning district corresponds to the Low (5) Residential future land use designation in the Future Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan.
