The intent of the village commercial district is primarily oriented to serve residents of the village and the surrounding residential area. The Village Commercial zoning district is intended to help form the core of the villages. Allowing a mixture of residential uses beside or above commercial uses will help create a mixed use environment, which integrates uses harmoniously and increases the intensity of activity in the area. The orientation of the uses should integrate pedestrian access and provide linkages to adjacent residential areas, plazas or parks, and amenities.
