The purpose of the MU-I District is to foster the transformation of industrial areas into vibrant, viable economic centers. While the presence of industrial operations once served as an important facet of Geneva's economy, the viability of large scale, stand alone industrial operations has declined in response to changing markets and technology. This district is intended to support the vision and recommendations of the City Comprehensive Plan by allowing for creative redevelopment and investment efforts that cultivate increased employment opportunities.
