The purpose of the Commercial Zone is to provide areas in the county to fulfill general commercial development that is consistent with the character of the unincorporated portions of the County. This includes commercial development that is not dependent upon municipal water or sewer service, but can instead be accomplished on private well and septic systems. Many commercial enterprises including large scale retail, hotels, convention facilities, and hospitals/health care facilities are important parts of a community, but are best located within the incorporated cities where municipal infrastructure can better serve those commercial endeavors.
