CORE

The CORE district is intended to be a clearly identifiable downtown or central business district for Pahokee. As such, the area is to serve as a focal point for a variety of local and regional activities including retail sales, personal and business services, public and private offices, and entertainment and residential opportunities. Further, the arrangement of structures, open space, landscaping and public plazas and parks are just as important as the uses to be located within the district. The district is intended to have a street-level focus and create an environment conducive to pedestrian activities. Finally, the incorporation of a consistent landscaping, signage, sidewalk and street design theme throughout the district is intended to be created to further delineate the boundaries of the district and emphasize its importance.
