Public And Quasi Public

The purpose and intent of the P/Q public/quasi-public classification is to permit any lawful governmental activity of federal, state and local governments. It need not be applied to all governmentally owned lands, but only to those lands particularly and peculiarly related to the public welfare. Additionally, where an activity is public or quasi-public in its nature by virtue of educational, recreational, health or welfare orientation, and the public interest will be served by allowing such activity in the city, it may be permitted as a special exception.
