The purpose and intent of the R-1 single-family residential district is to provide lands within the town for single-family residential uses of the lowest population density. No more than one dwelling unit per lot is permitted, and density shall not exceed 4.0 dwelling units per gross acre based on a minimum lot size of 10000 square feet. All dwellings shall not exceed two stories.
