Rural Resort Specific Plan
The RU designation is intended to provide appropriate sites for outdoor recreation facilities and limited visitor oriented facilities and services in rural areas of the county The district is intended to protect the environment and rural character of an area while allowing for compatible development. The SP designation is intended to provide for planned development in areas outside existing communities, or on large parcels of land within or adjacent to existing communities The Specific Plan designation may also be applied to an area to provide direction for potentially conflicting or incompatible land uses The designation may also be used to plan for future land uses in the vicinity of, and access routes serving surface mining operations
