The R3 district is intended to preserve existing single-family neighborhoods. The R3 district is intended to ensure that any new development promotes walkability, access to parks, open space, and recreation amenities and is compatible with existing land uses and development patterns. The purpose of the West Oak Area Historic District is to ensure the protection and preservation of the West Oak Area Historic District by providing regulations for the use, construction, alteration, repair, improvement, and alteration of buildings, structures, properties and sites within the District.
