Regional Park
The primary purpose of the Regional Park (PR) zoning district is to provide active and passive publicly-owned recreation facilities and uses on land exceeding forty (40) acres and serving the City and the surrounding areas. The secondary purpose of the PR zoning district is to promote economic development and a sense of place by seamlessly integrating sports-related and cultural facilities and uses with abutting commercial developments while protecting abutting residential uses. The Regional Park (PR) zoning district also is intended to apply to land with special environmental or cultural resources and to recreational, environmental and cultural uses. The PR zoning district corresponds to the Recreation and Open Space future land use designation in the Future Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan.
