The purpose of the Local Park (PL) district is to provide active and passive publicly-owned recreation facilities and uses primarily for neighborhoods and secondarily to the entire City. The Local Park (PL) zoning district is intended to serve as the focal point for various residential neighborhoods and as a pedestrian and bicycle hub. The PL zoning district corresponds to the Recreation and Open Space future land use designation in the Future Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan.
