Downtown Commercial
The purpose of the downtown commercial zoning district is to maintain and enhance the character of the historic buildings within the central business district area of historic downtown Florence; and facilitate opportunities for redevelopment and new development. Use and development standard regulations for the DC district are designed to promote a pedestrian oriented specialty retail and mixed use district by encouraging the improvement of the pedestrian environment, delineating appropriate land uses within the district and ensuring that new and renovated buildings are designed to be compatible with the historic fabric of the area and at a scale consistent with existing buildings within the DC district.
